Graduate School of Business

Application and Admission

Application Procedure and Deadlines

The doctoral programs «Business Administration» and «Management and Economics» of the Graduate School of Business at the University of Zurich (GSB-UZH) are internationally oriented and aim to attract the best students from all over the world. Applicants are expected to have earned a Bachelors or Masters degree or the equivalents therefore in Business or neighboring fields such as Economics, Accounting or Finance, or in other business relevant fields. Both programs, «Business Administration» and «Management and Economics» can be started each semester. As the compulsory and introductory courses in particular for Track B are usually held in the fall term, we generally recommend to begin PhD studies in fall.

Step 1: Apply with the Program First

For admission to PhD studies all students first need to be accepted by one of our doctoral programs. These pages tell you how to apply with us.

The doctoral committee will review your application to one of our PhD programs and come back to you as soon as possible. The program will then send you a letter of acceptance. With that letter you have to complete your matriculation with University of Zurich.

Please read carefully the following pages for details regarding the program application.

Step 2: Matriculation

All PhD students regardless of their respective course of study have to apply for matriculation with the University's admission office. More detailed information regarding this procedure is given after successful program acceptance.
