Dvora Yanow, University of Amsterdam: Organizational Ethnography
Organizational ethnography is becoming increasingly influential in organizational studies more generally and in strategy-as-practice research in particular. In order to train doctoral students and young scholars in this methodology and to advance the discipline Professor Dvora Yanow is currently holding a series of 3-day workshops on organizational ethnography at the University of Zurich. A first successful workshop for doctoral students was held in May 2011. After a theoretical introduction to the method, students were asked to observe and conduct interviews in street markets.
The next seminar will be held from Nov 9th-11th, 2011. On this occasion, Dvora Yanow will animate a discussion on the place of organizational ethnography in organization studies and will provide individual feedback on papers. For further information please visit: http://www.business.uzh.ch/professorships/om/teaching/hs11/Organizational_Ethnography_Seminar.pdf.
While the seminar is mainly intended for PhD students enrolled at the University of Zurich, there is also space for external participants. If you are interested in participating in the next workshop on organizational ethnography, please send your application (including CV and a description of your research project) to Stéphane Guérard at stephane.guerard@uzh.ch before September 30th.
